Griffis Steel Company, Inc was founded in 1958 as a structural steel fabricator and erector. As the local Babcock & Wilcox manufacturing plant in Brunswick began to discontinue operations, in 1982, Griffis Steel had 5 full time employees. Griffis Steel Company, Inc. developed the required quality procedures and welding certification documentation to become a qualified subcontractor to Babcock & Wilcox in Barberton, Ohio. Griffis has been building non-pressure components for B&W and other Boiler component companies for the past eighteen years and currently employs 31 people.

Financials
Griffis Steel Company is a privately held company by its three family shareholders. The company has never had any substantial debt and all expansion has been accomplished with the previous year's profits. The company has recently been operating with approximately $3 million in annual revenues.
